Hey everyone! It's hard to believe our class is already over! You should all be proud of yourselves. Everybody worked really hard in the class.
You worked especially hard on your presentations! I've embedded the class VoiceThread below so you can watch it again if you wish. Good luck in your future classes. I enjoyed meeting and working with all of you, and I look forward to seeing you accomplish your goals in the future. Keep working hard! -Teacher Jenny

Hey everyone! In class this morning, I shared a story about my cousin who posted a news article on Facebook. The news article looked real, but there were some clues that it was fake.
Clues you can use to decide if something is true or false are to first read the article. If it seems to be making claims that don't seem quite right, it might be false. Poor spelling and grammar are also clues. Another clue is to look at where the article comes from. Is it a well-known, unbiased website, or is it a website you've never heard of? If you see something on the internet and you're not sure if it's true, a good resource to check first is www.snopes.com. They have a team of investigators who research stories on the Internet to find out if they're true or not. Then they write up a report and post it on the website. Here is a link to the Snopes report about the article that my cousin shared: http://www.snopes.com/australia-becomes-first-country-to-begin-microchipping/ And remember - they can't put anything on the internet that isn't true! Don't forget the TABE test is this Thursday. We will also collect your vocabulary quiz for Lesson 16 and your "Brilliant Blunder" handout. Keep working hard - we're almost done! -Teacher Jenny |
