Sorry I missed class this morning. I'm at a meeting in Springfield today and tomorrow. I'm on the board of directors for IACEA (Illinois Adult and Continuing Education Association), and we have five meetings a year to plan our annual conference for adult educators and provide advocacy for adult education - especially important this year, since Illinois hasn't passed a budget yet!
Anyway, don't worry - I didn't forget about your vocabulary practice! Here is the link to the Quizlet activities for our new vocabulary words: https://quizlet.com/_2id2dr Comment below if you have any questions or want me to check your sample sentences. As always, keep working hard and I'll see you on Tuesday! -Teacher Jenny Hey everyone! You all did a great job working on our new vocabulary in class this morning. Here is the latest Quizlet quiz so you can practice on your own:

Homework for the weekend is pp. 111-112 in your vocabulary packet (due Tuesday) and the discrimination writing assignment and "Escape to Freedom" reading (due Thursday). Have a great weekend, and keep working hard!
Hey everyone! Great work in class today. Don't forget the homework for Thursday - pp. 98, 99, and 100 in your vocabulary packet, and the reading and comprehension questions for "The Rainmaker."
To study the vocabulary, check out the latest Quizlet quiz here: https://quizlet.com/_2g5dwb If you want to learn more about "The Rainmaker" or just check your comprehension of the story, here is the documentary we watched in class last week: As always, click "Comments" below to submit your questions. Quizlet is a great (free!) website to help you learn vocabulary. I made a study set for you using the words we learned in class this morning: https://quizlet.com/_2fpz35 You can use the study set and all the activities without creating an account, but if you do create an account, you join the class OR make your own study sets! Oh - there's also an app for that: https://quizlet.com/mobile I'll make vocabulary quizzes for our words every week, so make sure you check back here often! -Teacher Jenny |
