We had a lot of questions today after reading about the Star Tiger, which disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle. To learn more about ships and planes that have disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle, read this website:

New year, new class, new blog! Welcome to my newest students in ABE020. This blog is for you! I try to update it every week with extra practice, resources, and videos you might find interesting or helpful. Feel free to poke around! You can leave comments or ask questions here. You can also look at the blogs under "Past Classes" to see what my other classes have worked on. When our class is over, I'll add this blog under "Past Classes," too, so you can access it in the future.
Today I want to share with you an excellent resource for developing your reading fluency and comprehension skills. You might recognize some of the stories because we have worked on them in class. Well, I actually pulled those stories from a free resource that anyone can use! http://resources.marshalladulteducation.org/reading_skills_home.html Click the link above to visit Marshall Adult Education. Here, you can find stories written at all levels of ABE. Use your TABE score to select your level (if you don't know your TABE score, ask me!). I recommend going one or two levels ABOVE your TABE score to give yourself a challenge. So if your TABE score is 5.5, try reading something from level 6.0 or 6.5. Follow the instructions at the top of each page, then click the yellow button at the bottom of each page to continue. After reading the story several times, answer the comprehension questions in your notebook. If you get stuck, let me know - I'm here to help! Keep working hard! It will take a lot of effort, but you will get there. -Jenny |
