Hey - remember way back on the first day of class when I said we'd have a group project? No, I didn't forget. Yes, that's still happening. Today we're going to learn how to use Google Slides, which your group will use to give a presentation to the class. Next week, we'll talk a little more about the project and choose your groups.
For today, let's stick with learning more about Google Slides. Look, I made a presentation for you:

I found a video on YouTube of Ted Koppel's interview with Morrie Schwartz. It's over an hour long, so I don't expect you to watch the whole thing! However, you can watch as much as you like - I'd recommend at least the first ten minutes or so.
What do you find most striking about Morrie? Is he like you expected from what we've read so far? What lesson from the video strikes you? Click "Comments" at the top of this post and leave your name and response. After leaving a comment, feel free to search YouTube for more videos of Mitch Albom or Morrie (there are a lot!). You can also go to Quizlet and make a study set for Week 3 vocabulary. -Jenny
Reading isn't all words, sentences, and paragraphs. We also have to read information in visual forms such as charts and graphs. Watch this short video to learn more about different kinds of graphs:
Want more practice? Try making different kinds of graphs to represent things in your life. For example, you could make a pie chart to represent what kinds of movies you like to watch, or a bar graph to compare your favorite foods with your friends. Let me know if you have more questions! -Jenny |
